Rye has an outstanding command of the strike zone and effectively throws four pitches for strikes.  He is currently pitching at Western Oregon University as a junior, currently 1 – 0 with an E.R.A. 3.38 out of the bullpen. He played 2 years at Lower Columbia College and posted E.R.A.s of 1.82 and 1.85 in his freshman and sophomore collegiate years. 

Graduated Peninsula High School as a 3 sport scholar athlete.  He earned two time Washington All-State honors in High School, Seamount League MVP in 2006 and 1st team All-League 2006 and 2005.  His High School win/loss record was 15 – 1 with an E.R.A. under 1.
