The Peekskill Robins split 2 doubleheaders over the weekend with the Lehigh Valley Catz and the Kutztown Rockies. They lost both opening games by the scores of 4-0 and came back to win the Second Game's by the scores of 7-6 and 4-3. In the opener vs the Catz, Peekskill managed only 4 hits but fell due to all the runs being unearned. Mike Anderson pitched brilliantly for the Robins giving up only 5 hits in this contest while suffering the loss. In the nitecap while trailing 3-2, the Robins tied the game with a clutch rbi single by DH, Mike Imbriale. and later took a 1 run lead. The Catz scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th to take a 6-4 lead but the Robins came back with 3 in the top of the 7th to seal the game with the big hit being a 2 run rbi single by Cameron Johnson. Mike Mastrogiavanni pitched an excellent game for Peekskill going 5.1 innings and was relieved by the eventual winner, Will Baine. Harry Glynne came in to get the final 3 outs to pick up the save. Steve Vitale of the Robins was also solid offensively with 3 hits in this contest.

In Sunday's First Game, the defense also faltered by giving up 4 unearned runs. Chris McKenzie was outstanding on the mound for Peekskill giving up only 2 hits while striking out 10 as he deserved a Better Fate. In the nitecap, the Robins were trailing 3-0 going into the 4th inning but picked up their First Run of the day with a Quentin Luquette Single and an rbi double by Vitale. Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the 6th with 2 men on base, Tom Meade blasted his 2nd home run of the season giving the Robins a 4-3 lead which proved to be the game winner. Peekskill received Outstanding Pitching all weekend and this game was no exception as Andrew Leenhouts was dominating, giving up only 3 hits while striking out 9 to pick up his 2nd win of the year. The Robins will return to action on Thursday July 2 for a 6pm game at Seton Hall vs Northern Jersey and will return home July 3 for a doubleheader vs Lehigh Valley at 430pm and July 4th for a 4pm Twinbill vs Northern Jersey.
