Arizona Diamondbacks select Eric Smith

Former Peekskill Robin, Eric Smith [2007] of the University of Rhode Island became both the Highest Picked Player not only in School History but also in the history of the Robins when he was selected in the 2nd Round [60th overall] in the 2009 First Year Player Draft last evening. The Milford Ct. Native who is also a Former ACBL All Star becomes the 46th player to sign a contract from the Robin's Organization. This Spring, Eric was an Atlantic -10 First Team All Star and was selected to the NCAA National Pitcher of the Week List on several occasions. The Entire Peekskill Robin Organization and the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League salute this Fine Young Man and wish him the best of success in his Professional Career.
